LUU ISOC’s Random Acts of Kindness Project
The LUU ISOC’s Random Acts of Kindness project, has drawn inspiration from RAKtivists around the world, from those who aspire to be kind and selfless in daily actions and beyond, bringing good will and happiness to those they encounter, with both the smaller and bigger gestures!
We hope this project will serve as a means of enabling us to engage with our community, facilitate the fulfilment of our own and our members Islamic duty whilst at university, and meanwhile, allow our belief and fundamental Islamic teachings to be reflected in all of our actions.
The Prophet’s wife Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah said: “O people, you should do whatever good deeds you can, for Allah does not get tired (of giving reward) until you get tired. And the most beloved of good deeds to Allah is that in which a person persists, even if it is little. If the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) started to do something, they would persist in it.” [Bukhari, Muslim].
“Verily, all actions are but driven by intention and for everyone is what he intended.”[Bukhari, Muslim] ~ May Our Lord grant us the sincerest of intentions and enable us to fulfil our commitment to the project to our full potential, and may it exist as a self sustaining project for many years to come in’sha’allah.

- Give a gift: This will involve organizing visits to local children’s hospitals, hospices and care homes for the elderly. Where we’ll hand out gifts, as well as give the gift of time and friendly company!
- Leeds ISOC feeds the homeless: This will involve creating food packages and personally delivering them to the homeless in the city centre.
- A hygiene kit drive: We’ll collect essential hygiene products, i.e. shampoo, toothbrushes, nail clippers, antibacterial wipes/solution from which we’ll create care packages and deliver to local shelters and to the homeless.
