Asalaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah wa Baraktuh.

Well done to all of you for making it through Semester One. University is a challenging, important and exciting time, and it is important for us to remember just why we are here, how we got to this station with the aid of Allah, and remember - now that you have completed your first Semester here at the University of Leeds let us make sure that all those Duas of "please let me get into Leeds Uni" are renewed with Duas of "Thanks Allah for enabling me to get in!" (self edit needed for those who are continuing in 1st/2nd years.) Are we people who turn to our Creator only in times of need, or in times of gratitude also.

Your Islamic Society sincerely hopes we have done our best to welcome you to our wonderful University, help you settle in and meet some fantastic peers. We look forward to seeing you in the New Year, plumped up after all those festive treats!

Work hard, seize the gift of education that is available to us in our country and use it for the betterment of our society and world. Good Luck with the revision, essays, assignments and portfolios: attached are Duas for you to print and stick up above your desks to aid you through this exam period. Remember to have a few rests during the Christmas break amongst all that studying too!
